The Revd John Bennett, Anglican Centre Diocesan Representative for Ripon, visited the Centre in September this year with his wife Rita on the first anniversary to the day when Archbishop Ian and his wife, Kamla, took up the appointment at the Centre in Rome.  Archbishop Ian, spoke both of his inter-faith and ecumenical interests, having been Archbishop of the Indian Ocean and Bishop of Mauritius, before becoming the present Director of the Anglican.

Archbishop Ian will speak in the seminar on the subject, “Pope Francis encyclical “Fratelli tutti “ and its inter-faith implications” . Translated - it is ‘Brothers and sisters All-a quote from St Francis Admonitions, a document on fraternity and social friendship, much used in the current encyclical on fraternity today. The date is Wednesday, November 25th at 7pm British time. (In Rome, Italy, the time is 8pm).  Archbishop Ian will also introduce listeners and contributors to the current ecumenical work of the Centre, during this period of an extra-ordinary pandemic.

Christians Aware is an international and interdenominational UK based educational charity, working to develop multicultural and interfaith understanding and friendship both locally and internationally. Its aim is to work for justice, peace and development. The focus is on listening in order to encourage awareness and action. Its membership and programme is ecumenical, and promotes conferences-and webinar seminars, international exchanges, work-camps, books and a magazine.
