Sabbaticals

The Anglican Centre Library

We can offer you the library resources at the Anglican Centre in Rome and its on-line catalogue

Other research libraries

We can put you in touch with other research libraries in Rome and work with these institutions so that you might have access to libraries in addition to the Anglican Centre in Rome, and make introductions to other sabbatical visitors at these institutions:
These might specifically be:

  • the Library of the Centro Pro Unione,
  • the Library of the American Academy in Rome,
  • the Library of the British School.

Contacts at the Universities

We can put you in touch with the Gregorian University in Rome and the Angelicum University in Rome so that you will know what special conferences are planned during your stay.

Anglican parishes and contacts

We can provide you a list of services and notice of special events at the various Anglican parishes and institutions in Rome, as well as provide introductions to the Anglican clergy in Rome.

Use of the Anglican Centre Library and Seminar Room

At most times of the year we can offer the use the library and seminar room from Monday to Friday ordinarily from 9.30am - 4.30pm (when we have courses on or groups using the Centre for meetings, this becomes a little more problematic). It is always wise to check the opening times of the Centre as the staff is so small that there will be occasional times when it will not be open.

Support before and during your stay

We can offer you the same support which we try to give to all private visitors:

  • Sending you a list of places to stay

  • Showing you around the Anglican Centre

  • Welcoming you to our weekly Tuesday Eucharist, followed by lunch (except in August)

  • Helping you make contact with various Vatican offices and with other Roman Catholic groups and organisations

  • Helping you find support in a crisis with pastoral care, use of Italian, and contacts.

For further information, please contact the Centre Manager.

On Wednesday 25th November a joint webinar, with the Director of the Anglican Centre in Rome, is to be hosted both by the Ripon Support Group of the Anglican Centre and the International charity, Christians Aware.

This arose out of a visit to the Anglican Centre in Rome, on Tuesday 29th September, when Archbishop Ian the Director, spoke both of his inter-faith and ecumenical interests, having been Archbishop of the Indian Ocean and Bishop of Mauritius, before becoming the present Director of the Anglican Centre in Rome in 2019.
